if you've eaten lobster ever at all in your life, then know this. if a cook is making lobster tails, they literally twist the lobster in two while it is alive, to make the two halves as you see now.
if they are making a stuffed lobster, quite literally a knife is plunged into the poor live thing and is cut from stem to stern. After they are mutilated, they are either boiled alive in a pot of water or in a steamer (which is an oven that has steam in it).
i worked in a seafood kitchen a couple summers, and i hated this part of it

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but steaks and chicken wings don't come from trees or bushes.

The vast majority of westernised restaurants would have live lobsters available but before cooking they would kill it with a very swift cut to the head, killing it in the quickest way possible. Don't thumbs up this guy he's talking sh*t and lobsters are f*cking delicious, don't let this put you off.

The strange part of that is lobsters are pretty much one of the most resilient creatures on the planet. Like Cockroaches almost.
